“This element is kind of gone. Everything was so precious. Everything was so valuable. You really had to get off your ass and go outside, and learn, and find things out ,and seek out the people who had the knowledge. Hopefully you could be cool enough, where they would pass their knowledge on to you. And now everything is so easy and accessible.
There is no “culture” to be had, sitting on your ass on the internet, ordering t-shirts and fuckin’ sneakers off the internet. That’s not culture, that’s fucking gay.” —Revok
This goes beyond just graffiti. Anything that was a belonging to a small group of people, where you learned off each other, and the people you met along the way is steadily disappearing. ”Armchair expert” is a saying when you deemed yourself an expert from reading books, rather than experience, and many kids today are guilty of that saying due to the internet. I am guilty of it too, and maybe the internet is breeding a new culture altogether, but the salty dogs will always differ.
